The Van Guard 1123SP stereo microscope has binocular viewing heads, a pole stand with 65 mm of vertical travel ability, and a magnification ability of around 10X or 30X, with dual objective magnification configurations of 1X and 3X. This microscope enhances object or image resolution which has a stereo optical system that creates three-dimensional images. It is often employed for inspection and dissection applications.

The 1123SP features binocular viewing heads to ease eye strain and also to provide a more comprehensive view. The heads are fixed at a 45-degree vertical inclination, and will rotate 360-degrees.
